Application of Machine Vision in Online Detection of Printing Defects

Pubdate:2020-03-05 Latest Author:David
Nowadays, the main method for detecting defects in printed products in China is manual random sampling and offline testing. The quality of printed products is greatly influenced by subjective judgment, making it difficult to ensure the accuracy and consistency of printed products. Offline testing takes a long time and printing defects cannot be corrected in a timely manner. Moreover, modern printing speed is high, resulting in waste of printing materials and greatly reduced production efficiency. In the packaging and printing industry, People have increasingly high requirements for the quality of packaging printed materials, and packaging printed materials have short cycles and large printing volumes. In this situation, there is an urgent need for an online printing defect detection system.

Machine vision detection technology is to simulate human visual functions through computers, add "eyes" to the machine, obtain image information of objects through these "eyes", extract useful information for analysis and processing, and make judgments based on rules to complete quality detection.

Design of Hardware for Visual Inspection System

Online detection of printing defects requires accurate identification and judgment of printing defects that occur during the printing process, timely feedback of defect detection information to the control unit of the printing machine and issuing an alarm to achieve real-time control and monitoring of the printing process. Therefore, the speed of printing image processing has become a key factor in the real-time performance of online detection, and real-time image processing systems are required to have high computational capabilities, So here, the author adopts a visual detection system based on a digital signal processor DSP as the core.
